Banque Libano-Française signed, on December 11, 2020, a partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), under the Livelihoods and Inclusive Finance Expansion (LIFE) project in Lebanon, administered by Palladium International.
This partnership aims at supporting small business owners, micro, small and medium enterprises, BLF and non-BLF clients, affected by the tragic blast of the Beirut Port, to help them resume activities and employment through in-kind grants. These grants cover the restoration of non-structural impediment to office function, the reparation of existing equipment or office furniture, and the acquisition of new equipment and office furniture for existing or new premises.
“I’m so happy to represent USAID’s relationship with BLF and the special assistance provided to vulnerable people who suffered from the consequences of the blast”, said David Holdridge, Chief Party of Palladium International.
“We are very happy about this partnership. We have been indirectly dealing with USAID through the World Food Program and I hope that this will be the first step towards a direct collaboration, confirmed Raya Raphaël Nahas. We will act quickly as it is an emergency assistance, to put in place the proper platform and processes and reach out vigilantly to impacted businesses”, she continued.
“There’s a need to bring back the city to life and to create hope”, concluded the Chairman of BLF Group Elie Nahas.
